Pee Dee Baptist Association Community Center to get Upgrades

The Marion County Healthcare Foundation recently awarded a grant to the Pee Dee Baptist Association to renovate and upgrade their community center located on Hwy 76 in Mullins.  Funds from this grant will enable the association to install a commercial kitchen, upgrade the HVAC in their kitchen and exercise room.   The center is a community resource and through certification by the Red Cross serves as a shelter in times of emergency.   The center also serves as a distribution point for food and supplies in times of natural disasters.  Said Linda Phillips,  Administrator of the center “With the installation of the commercial kitchen we can better serve those in need during times of disaster.  We can also increase and expand our healthy eating educational programs.?   The renovation project is expected to start in early 2020 and be completed in 6 months.
