Through a $10,000 grant provided to the American Red Cross, over 50 residents of Marion County will receive volunteer training, in a range of service areas, to help Marion County respond to disaster recovery.  As part of the Prepare SC project, these funds will better enable the Red Cross to provide more efficient and effective disaster service across all phases of preparation, response, and recovery.   Said Candy Oliver,  Regional Philathropy Officer for the Red Cross, ” these funds come at a most important time in Marion County” as we mobilize to support the efforts to recover from hurricane Florence”.
