Marion County Healthcare Foundation awards Red Cross with disaster relief grant
The American Red Cross has been awarded $5,000 to support Marion County families that have suffered from disaster. The money will bring relief in the form of temporary housing, food and clothes for family members.
The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, which provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
“The Red Cross works hard to support Marion County in time of need and this money means a great deal to area families that are suffering,” said Linda Boone Smith, executive director, Marion County Red Cross. “I can’t say thank you enough to the Marion County Health Foundation for supporting our needs by funding our grant request.”
