Bruce I. Siegal- Secretary  

Bruce I. Siegal received his BS Degree in Business from New York University and is the former vice president of Marvel Lamp Company. He served as president of Supreme Lighting in Mullins from 1980 – 1999 and has served on several boards of directors including Davis National Bank, First National South and Anchor Bank. In addition, Siegal is the former chairman of the board for MRHS and a past chairman of Marion County Healthcare Foundation.

 Beth Klauber

Beth Klauber is a part-time instructor of nursing at Florence-Darlington Technical College and has been a resident of Marion for 18 years. Beth is graduate of Furman University with a BMus in Piano Pedagogy, Greenville TEchnical College with an Associate's Degree in Nursing, and Vanderbilt University where she received her Master's of Nursing degree.  Previously she has served as the board chairman at Pee Dee Academy, and she is the hand bell choir director at First United Methodist Church.

Johnny R. Floyd

Johnny R. Floyd, who currently serves as Vice President and Marion County Executive of Anderson Brothers Bank, graduated from Francis Marion University, the South Carolina Bankers School and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. In addition, he is a graduate of Palmetto Leadership, Leadership South Carolina and the South Carolina Economic Development School. He has served on several boards of directors including Marion County Progress, Mullins Rotary Club and United Fund of Marion County and is the recipient of numerous awards in recognition of his service to the community.

Edward W. Whittington, Jr- Treasurer

Edward W. Whittington, Jr., a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he also received his Juris Doctor, has been practicing law in Mullins for the past 37 years. He has served on several boards of directors such as Pee Dee Academy, the Davis National Bank, First National South and the Mullins Rotary Club. He also maintains memberships to the South Carolina Bar Association, the Marion County Bar Association, the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, the South Carolina Criminal Defense Association and serves on the Commission on Lawyer Conduct panel.

Sylvia H. Holmes

Sylvia H. Holmes, a retired educator from Florence-Darlington Technical College and a longstanding member of Tabernacle A.M.E. Church, earned her Bachelor’s in Science from Morris College and her Master’s in Education from Francis Marion University.  As a faculty member at Florence-Darlington Technical College, Holmes taught Reading and College Skills.  In addition to serving as an instructor, Holmes served as Secretary of Faculty Senate at Florence-Darlington Technical College and was subsequently elected to serve as President of Faculty Senate.  During her tenure at Florence-Darlington Technical College, she was selected as Faculty Member of the Year and  selected as a recipient of the Certificate of Merit from the National Academic Advising Association Award. Holmes has also represented her community holding several position on the Marion School board.  

Janie McClellan Johnson- Chair

Janie McClellan Johnson has served as president and CEO of Insurance Investment Services for 17 years. A former educator with a master of arts from Georgetown University, Johnson plays an active role in her community as a member of Palmetto Leadership, NAACP, Marion Kiwanis Club, Leadership Montgomery and the National Business League. She is continuing her community activities as a member of the Marion Regional Healthcare System and the Marion County Healthcare Foundation.  She served as campaign manager for South Carolina Senate District 30.  She is also a member of St. John AME Church where she holds several positions, including chairperson of the Commission on Stewardship and Finance and Superintendent of Sunday School. 

Dianne Herrington-Vice Chair

Dianne Herrington, a lifelong resident of Marion County, is a graduate of Francis Marion College.  She has worked as the Human Resources Manager with Johnson Controls and Sara Lee in Florence, and has served two years on the Marion Regional Healthcare System board of directors. She is currently employed with South Carolina Works.  She is a former board member of the Marion Rotary Club and Marion United Way, and served on the Board of Trustees for Francis Marion University for eight years. At present, she is serving on the Board of directors for the Marion Chamber of Commerce.

Edwin P. Rogers, Jr.

Edwin P. Rogers, Jr., a graduate of Clemson University, is retired as the city administrator for the city of Mullins. Prior to this role, Rogers served as the city planner for Mullins, county administrator for Marion County, economic development and planning director for Marion and grant manager for the Pee Dee Regional Council of Governments.

 

Ganga Mathi, MD

Ganga Mathi, MD, Board Certified in Internal Medicine, is a physician with Marion Regional Hospital. Dr. Mathi completed his residency at Polyclinic Medical Center and practiced as an attending physician at Geisinger Medical Center prior to joining the former Mullins Hospital and Advanced Medical Associates in 1996. Dr. Mathi has served as President of the Medical Staff, Chief of Medicine, and Chairman of the Credentials Committee of Marion Regional Healthcare System. He is currently the Director of Hospice Services, and a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the South Carolina Medical Association.

James A. Battle, Jr.

 James A. Battle, Jr., a resident of Nichols, South Carolina.  He graduated from The Citadel with a B.S. degree in Business in 1964 and received his M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina in 1967.  He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam as a First Lieutenant.   He served as a banker with Wachovia Bank & Trust as well as a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He also served as an instructor in the Business Department at the University of North Carolina-Pembroke and at Francis Marion University.  He is a co-owner of several businesses in Nichols and Mullins South Carolina.  He also served eight terms in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1997 – 2012.  During this time he was assigned to the House Ways and Means Committee and as subcommittee Chairman.  

Kent M. Williams

Senator Kent M. Williams,  a graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College and received his Bachelor of Science from South Carolina State University in 1987.  He has served as the Deputy County Administrator for Marion County for the past 13 years.  He was elected to the South Carolina Senate in 2004 and is preparing for his third term.  During this time he has served on several key Senate committees.  As a member of the Marion County Board of Education from 1998 – 2004, he served as Chairman for four years.  Currently he serves as a member of the South Carolina Governor’s State Workforce Investment Board.  He also serves on the Wells Fargo Advisory Board, is an active member and steward of the St. James A.M.E. Church and the past Chairman for the Marion County March for Babies.  He is the recipient of numerous awards in recognition of his service to the community.

Jean Pearson

Jean Pearson Jean W. Pearson graduated with a BA Degree from SC State University and a M. ED from Francis Marion University.  Jean is a  retiree from Marion County Schools (Britton’s Neck) after 30 years of service as a teach, counselor, Principal and Assistant Superintendent for Federal Programs.  She is currently employed as Director of Pleasant Grove Academy and is actively involved in the ministries of Pleasant Grove Baptist church, order of Eastern Star, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, SC Early Childhood Association and Marion County Foster Care review board.
